Gemini is a cryptocurrency exchange, wallet, and custodian that allows users to buy, sell, and store cryptocurrencies. Gemini launched credit cards that simplify earning rewards and managing cryptocurrencies. These cards allow users to buy and sell crypto easily while enjoying benefits like cashback and travel perks.

Gemini tasked us with creating compelling illustrations to showcase their cryptocurrency reward system. Our role was to clearly highlight each step—from earning and trading to spending rewards—ensuring users fully understand and can take advantage of the Gemini credit card’s benefits.

ILLUSTRATION STYLE /
FREEHAND FLOW

My role encompassed exploring, conceptualizing, and designing an illustration style to effectively convey the simplicity of the reward process.

To underscore this ease, a 2D, minimalist freehand illustration style was established, characterized by sleek, bold forms with rounded edges and quirky proportions. These elements were chosen to emphasize the authenticity and simplicity of both the process and the Gemini brand.

Additionally, to innovate beyond conventional illustrations, a morphing transition technique was implemented. This resulted in the creation of two distinct illustrations/actions per step, adding a dynamic element to the user experience.
